NEW MEASURES ARE EFFECTIVE TODAY
The new restrictive measures taken by Chancellor Angela Merkel and state prime ministers on Sunday in the fight against Kovid-19 entered into force today.
Accordingly, all stores will be closed except for workplaces where basic supplies are sold. In addition to markets selling food products, businesses such as banks, auto repair shops, opticians, gas stations, pharmacies, post offices will remain open. Schools and kindergartens will be closed. Separate arrangements such as distance education can be made for students studying in the last year. Theaters, cinemas, opera and concert halls will be closed, gyms, swimming pools, entertainment areas, barbers, massage and cosmetic salons and tattooists will not serve. A maximum of two households will be allowed to come together, but the number of people gathered will be limited to 5. Children under the age of 14 will not be included in the limitation. Businesses such as bars and restaurants that have been closed will be able to take delivery service.
In regions with high number of cases, local governments are given the opportunity to take additional measures. In this context, while the state of Baden-Württemberg imposes a restriction on going out, a ban on going out at night is imposed in the state of Bavaria. The measures will be valid until January 10.
